Our client is a leading provider of consulting, engineering,
and construction-support services for command, control, and communications
systems used in public transportation, public safety and infrastructure, and
homeland security marketplaces.
Job summary
Provide engineering and consulting services for public enterprises throughout
North America that include rail transit, fleet management, security and
infrastructure projects. Your tasks will include all aspects of implementing a project including conceptual design and deployment managment.
Tasks include:

Rail
transit projects involve preliminary/final design of train control and SCADA systems for power and station/facility management and
conceptual design of control centers.
·
Fleet
management projects involve dispatching, scheduling, and vehicle location for
fixed route and variable route services.
·
Security/Infrastructure
projects support ancillary operational needs for surveillance monitoring,
access control, intrusion detection, and other application-oriented systems.
·
These
projects require an understanding of wireline and
wireless communications technologies to enable computer-based monitoring and
control systems to be fully integrated with field equipment and other systems
in the client's enterprise.

They
can also require detailed engineering designs, with a complete drawing package,
that will support implementation and installation criteria.
Position
responsibilities include the following:
• Design technology solution for customer’s application
• Make recommendations for intelligent transportation systems and central-control facility designs
• Design computer-system architectures that will integrate into the client's
enterprise
• Prepare procurement specifications and supporting RFP materials
• Assist in the evaluation and procurement of the specified systems/technology
• Manage the implementation of the resulting contracts
• Oversee the deployment of your system design
• Assisting in the client's migration to the new
systems
Typical projects require that the candidate exercise proficiency
in formalized project management methods, including planning and scheduling;
cost control; risk and change order management; scope, schedule, budget, and
quality management; project staffing; and status reporting in customer-required
formats.
Requisites:

Successful
applicants must have excellent oral, writing, presentation and interpersonal
skills
·
Be
willing to travel as necessary about 20-25% and accommodate overnight stays at
customer sites
·
Applicants
must have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other technical
discipline
·
Have
more than five years of working experience with computer-based control and
communications systems
·
Applicants with a Professional Engineer's license is a plus.
